Green light for Senior Citizens Jubilee Party

The man behind the now defunct annual Senior Citizens Party has confirmed that it will be making a special return for Her Majesty’s jubilee this month.

Alan Crowe pulled the plug on the annual event after 10 memorable years, but said the jubilee had breathed new life into it for a return on May 31.

“Having secured help to do the catering and so forth it is now full steam ahead for the event which will take place on Tuesday, May 31, at Welshpool Town Hall from 2pm, doors open at 1.30pm,” he said.

Headlining the afternoon's entertainment will be television comedy veteran, Bernie Clifton, supported by West End singer, Cheryl Forbes, and multi-instrumentalist, Gordon Cree.

Tickets, available from Welshpool Jewellers, are £8 and available to anyone aged 60 years and over, plus anyone living in homes looking after those with learning difficulties.
