Town invited to join Mayor for civic service

Welshpool's newly re-elected Mayor Councillor Alison Davies (pictured) will lead a parade to and from her civic service tomorrow (Sunday).

She was handed the second term in office following Monday's annual meeting of Welshpool Town Council, where she won a vote by 7-5 against Cllr Hazel Evans.

Cllr Evans was then nominated for Deputy, but lost that vote 7-5 to Cllr Carol Robinson.

The town is invited to attend tomorrow’s Mayor’s parade and Civic Service, which will leave the Town Hall at 10.40am, travel down Broad Street to Church Street, and on to St Mary’s Church where there will be a service at 11am. 

After the service, the parade will then march back to Welshpool Town Hall.
