Welshpool Rotary Club is going the extra mile for the area’s unpaid carers, by partnering with a UK-wide charity to ensure that local people are receiving the support they need.
The club is leading the local district area’s partnership with Carers UK to encourage local community awareness of the needs of unpaid carers of all ages who are responsible for others.
“We are raising awareness and signposting people to agencies and support groups who may be able to assist them in that caring role,” a club spokesperson said.
Carers Week is from June 6 when the needs of Britain’s six million unpaid carers already known to services are highlighted along with the support and help that is available.
