Welshpool Town FC ‘hours from going under’

 

The club lost its fifth manager in 12 months last Thursday night when Adam Knight decided to step down, and an insider told mywelshpool: “With two weeks until the season starts, there’s no manager, no players, no chairman and no secretary so you could say it is not looking good.”

 

It is understood the club has already asked for its August Spar Division One fixtures to be postponed to allow any potential new manager time to recruit a team. And at Friday’s initial emergency meeting, a target list of potential managers was drawn up and officials have been working the phones to try and bring someone in.

 

But as tonight’s deadline draws closer, there is still no sign of a saviour and one of Wales’ most famous football club remains in serious danger of folding.
