Never mind the internet, social networking and the age of the mobile phone, Welshpool Police have come up with a somewhat simpler means for the community to reach them!
Blue boxes, branded with the police force logo, have been positioned in the town to enable members of the public to drop in their concerns or issues that they would like to see addressed within their community.
The idea has been created by the Welshpool Neighbourhood Policing Team who said in a statement: “The purpose of this is for members of the local community to write down any issues or concerns that they may have in the town, they can report these matters anonymously or leave contact details if they require an update. The matters raised will be addressed by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.”
The boxes are located at Welshpool Library, The Flash Leisure Centre and Clwyd Alyn Housing Office on the Oldford estate, with the blank forms attached to the sides of the boxes.
