Civic Evening to remember fallen

Welshpool will be hosting an evening Remembrance event in the Town Hall on November 11 as part of its Festival of events.
 
Welshpool Town Council has teamed up with the Welshpool Branch of the British Legion to host the evening which will also mark 90 years of thr British Legion.
 
Following a parade of Standards, accompanied by music from the Porth-y-Waen Youth and Training Silver Band, there will be entertainment provided by Steve Barclay, a well-known cabaret act with his own brand of stand-up comedy, impressions and music. The popular Community Singing follows, accompanied by the Porth-y-Waen Band.
 
The evening will conclude with the service of remembrance which is to be taken by the Reverend Sue Lawler of Welshpool Methodist Church.
 
Refreshments will be served and tickets are priced at £6.00 each and available from the Welshpool Tourist Information Centre (open Monday-Saturday 9.30am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm) or the Town Clerk’s Office which is open Monday to Friday 9.30am until 2.30pm. For further details call 01938 553142.
