MP welcomes new S4C chief

 

S4C has gone through radical changes this year, casting some doubts over the future of the Welsh-language station, but Mr Davies believes the appointment will turn the channel’s flagging fortunes around.

 

Mr Jones is currently managing director of a media business in New York, but will take up his new post in the New Year.

 

Mr Davies said: "Ian promises to be the injection of new blood that S4C needs and I'm looking forward to working with him. We have a new Chair and Chief Executive team leading our valued channel, after years of discontent. Everyone who values the Welsh Language and the TV channel which has helped stop its long term decline will wish Ian Jones all the very best in what will inevitably be a difficult challenge.”
