“A Question of Football”

17/11/2011 @ 05:37

Powysland Museum in Welshpool is hosting “A Question of Football” to mark the end of a popular exhibition which has showcased the history of Welsh football.

Former West Bromwich Albion and Wales star Graham Williams (right) and Welsh football historian and expert Ceri Stennett will be present for a question and answer evening on November 30 from 7-9pm.

Graham was one of the finest full-backs from the 1960’s and captained West Bromwich Albion to FA Cup Final glory in 1968. He was a regular in the Welsh team throughout that time and layer moved into coaching, becoming assistant manager of Wales under Bobby Gould. Today he is scouting for Tottenham Hotspur.

Ceri was Press Officer with Wales from 1998-2011, covering 100 matches and is also an avid collector, and the exhibition is the result of a successful partnership between Ceri and Powysland Museum. Recently he has also researched, compiled and written the book ‘As Good As It Gets’ - A Centenary History of the Welsh Schools Football Association 1911-2011.

There will be an opportunity to have a photo taken with The FA Cup and Graham for a charge of £1 which goes towards the Montgomeryshire Museums Education & Access Service. A Wales shirt signed by the present squad will be raffled on the night.

Booking is essential and should be made before November 28 on 01938 554656.
