Double whammy for car theft victim

18/11/2011 @ 02:47

A car owner suffered a double whammy after having his car stolen twice in a matter of days.

The drama started on November 5 when the man’s blue Mazda 6 was pinched from Castle Caereinion and later found burned out at a location close to Bala.

Police informed the owner, who has not been named, that it had been found but when he arrived to recover what was left of his car, it had been pinched again!

Police say the car was originally recovered – and then re-stolen– at a location known as Milltir Gerrig on the B4391 Llangynog to Bala road just inside Powys.

A spokesperson said: “Tyre tracks suggest that the person who took the vehicle travelled in the Bala direction. Anyone with information, or who may have seen the burnt out car being removed is asked to contact Welshpool Police Station on 101.”
