15/12/2011 @ 04:53

A funeral service takes place at Shrewsbury Crematorium at 11.20am on Wednesday for former Welshpool man Dale McNamee (pictured) who died in a hit-and-run road accident on November 26.

And mourners are being asked not to wear black ties but to chose something orange – the father of three’s favourite colour.

“Dale was passionate about the colour orange,” said the 36 year olds father Clive McNamee. “We are all still trying to come to terms with Dale’s death and are grateful for all the messages of support we have received.”

Police have stressed that their investigation into the death is still very much ongoing.

Mr McNamee, who lived at The Red Castle, Harmer Hill, Shrewsbury, died after being struck by a vehicle on the A458 between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth.

Detective Inspector Sarah Wagstaffe, one of the investigating team, said: “This is a major inquiry and we remain determined in our efforts to trace the driver involved.”
