Head teacher “leaves” Maesydre

Following a disappointing inspection report which placed the school in special measures, Maesydre Primary School has confirmed its headteacher Mrs Susanne Foster has decided to leave her post.
The news comes a day after the school broke up for the Christmas holidays and several months after a highly critical Estyn report.
Mrs Foster had been in the position since April 1, 2008 but will leave on December 31.
A statement sent to mywelshpool by Powys County Council read:
‘Following the Estyn report of May 2011, the Governors have to announce that Mrs Susanne Foster, Head teacher since 1st April 2008, has decided to leave Maesydre School with effect from 31st December 2011.
Mrs Foster sends children, staff and parents her best wishes for the future, and governors wish Mrs Foster all the best for her future.
Mrs Lynnette Lovell will continue as Acting Head teacher at the school until Easter 2012. The governing body will commence the recruitment process for a new headteacher in January.’
