Thief snatches DVDs from Smiths

If you are offered a cheap DVD version of the film ‘Senna’ this week, think again because it was probably snatched from WH Smiths on Tuesday.

Someone swiped six copies of the film from the shop at lunch time and police have warned that they will step up foot patrols in the town centre during shopping hours to clamp down on any more shoplifting.

A police spokesperson said: “Welshpool Neighbourhood Policing Team will conduct patrols of shops during the Christmas period with a view to preventing shoplifting offences. We would like to remind all shop personnel to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious persons.”
