Welshpool Livestock Sales report on a highly successful auction at Buttington Cross Welshpool on Tuesday.

 

An entry of 3042 prime lambs, selling to an excellent average of 212.42ppkg.   

Super Lights (up to 25.4kg) (75) to 192ppkg from J LL Morgans & Sons Tymawr. Average of 189ppkg.

Lights (25.5kg to 32kg) (167) to 238ppkg from D M Jones Pwll. Others to 210ppkg from J G Ellis & Son Tynewydd. Average of 203ppkg.

Standards (32.1kg to 39kg) (686) to 235ppkg from J W Hopkin Bank Farm. Others to 227ppkg from D M Jones Pwll. Average of 214ppkg.

Mediums (39.1kg to 45.5kg) (1393) to 235ppkg from M Tomlins Wigmore. Others to 233ppkg from G L Jones Cefnrhosan. Average of 212ppkg.

Heavies (45.1kg to 52kg) (577) to 215ppkg from M Tomlins Wigmore. Others to 214ppkg from D T A Williams Upper Bolbro. Average of 199ppkg.  

Over Weights (over 52kg) (120) to 202ppkg from D R Owen & Sons Sandilands. Other to 197ppkg from E L Evans & Co Green Farm. Average of 191ppkg.

Weekly Sales of Fat Lambs at 10.30am.

 

An entry of 823 cull sheep sold to a fantastic average of £68.47 for the ewes and £109.88 for the rams. Cull ewes topped at £139 per head from J Ruggeri Gwaelod y Rhos. E L Evans & Co Green Farm sold ewes to £135 per head. Cull rams topped at £140 per head from GC & CA Morgan Llidiardau. Weekly sale of Cull sheep every Monday to immediately follow the sale of fat lambs.
