Whatever next? Thieves pinch Fir trees!

05/01/2012 @ 02:08

Here at mywelshpool we are getting used to the depths that thieves sink in order to make a fast buck, but another appeal has reached our news desk that left us shaking our heads once again.

You may remember that just before Christmas, heartless thieves pinched a full salt bin from outside Welshpool High School? Now thieves have smashed heavy fixing bolts in order to nick two fir trees and their pots from outside the Leighton Centre in Leighton, Welshpool.

The pots were taken on the night of December 21.

“These two fir trees are only worth around £20,” said PC Mark White, who’s investigating the theft. “But they were placed in pots which were bolted into the ground. This has been snapped and both the trees and pots removed.

“If anyone has any information on this crime, or can help our inquiries in any way, please contact me at Welshpool Police Station on 101.”
