Welshpool is clearing up after a second ferocious storm which brought down trees and caused havoc across the area.
Roads outside Welshpool Airport and the straight after Llandrinio Bridge remain closed due to flooding and commuters faced a diversion nightmare as a tree came down close to Middletown.
Forecasters say we have probably had the worst of the weather but are urging caution with this weekend’s sporting programme expected to be decimated.
And Powys County Council is asking residents’ to assist in clearing up after winds blew collection bins everywhere, leaving a trail of litter in its path.
A spokespwerson said: “Recycling and waste bins and bags have been blown around by the gales. While the collection teams are picking up as much spilled material as they can, this is slowing collections. If residents are able to collect up their spilled material this would be greatly appreciated by the collection teams.”
