Serious accident closes road

Motorists face long diversions tonight following a serious road accident between Buttington Cross and the Llandrinio junction on the Welshpool to Oswestry road.

The road was still closed at 7-30pm and MyWelshpool was receiving unconfirmed reports from viewers of a collision between a car and a motorcycle.

Police and Powys Council workmen have erected roadblocks at the Llandrinio turn and at Buttington Cross.Traffic is being diverted via Llansantffraid and Criggion Lane and Trewern.
