The 14-year old cyclist involved yesterday in a collision with a car on the Penrhos junction between Four Crosses and Arddleen has died this afternoon (Friday).
And while a name has appeared on Facebook and Twitter this evening, it has not been released officially by police and we have decided not to publish it tonight out of respect for the youngster’s family.
Police are now looking for any witnesses who may have seen the youngster, who was out cycling with a friend at the time of the accident.
"We are looking for anyone who saw these youngsters out cycling in this area yesterday evening around the time of the accident, which was 4.40pm," said Sergeant Sean Westlake of the Mid Wales Roads Policing Unit. "We are still trying to determine exactly what happened and any information the public can give us to help is greatly appreciated.
“This is a harrowing time for the family and our sincere condolences go out to them. “
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
