Research on how people obtain advice

26/01/2012 @ 01:04

How local people obtain information and advice is the subject of research being carried out in Powys.

The information is being sought as Powys County Council’s Social Services team begins work on developing its Information and Advice Strategy.

The strategy, being developed in partnership with the Powys Teaching Health Board and Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations (PAVO), will set out how future advice services are funded.

Cllr Rosemarie Harris, Cabinet Member for Social Services, Care & Health, said: “Information and advice services are essential for all citizens and their carers who need, or may need, services and support in order to lead their lives.

“We want to involve the people who use information and advice in the design and monitoring of those services.”

An online survey is available at www.powys.gov.uk/haveyoursay but focus groups will be held at the following locations:

- Corn Exchange, Town Hall, Welshpool: Friday, February 3, 10am
- Monty Club, Newtown: Tuesday, February 7, 10am

If you want to attend one of the focus groups, contact the council on 01597 826846.
