Welshpool’s HGV sign mystery has been solved, and it has nothing to do with the town!
Substantial roadworks are taking place at Llansantffraid with diversions in place for lorries and other big vehicles to avoid the area.
A Powys County Council Highways Department spokesperson explained: “There’s resurfacing works taking place on the A495 near Llansantffraid, which requires a temporary prohibition of HGVs while the work is being carried out. The diversion route has been set up for the HGVs and signs have been erected as part of the route.”
