You’re a perfect 10

One of the most successful names in British music from the past 30 years is set to play a concert in Welshpool as part of a bizarre Tour.

Paul Heaton was lead singer with The Housemartins and The Beautiful South who sold millions of records during the 1980s and 90s, and he has continued to be one of the most respected names in the industry.

But Paul is celebrating his 50th birthday by hitting the road on his bicycle for his 50:50 Tour. He’ll be pedalling 2500 miles – 50 miles for each year – and supporting local pubs on route with a string of extra special shows across the UK and Ireland.

And the Raven Inn has got the nod for his Welshpool stay-over with tickets on sale today (Friday) for this one-off opportunity to see a musical living legend on Friday, June 8.

His mammoth journey will span 40 days and take in 33 shows. Journeying from Salford in Greater Manchester, Paul will travel through the Lake District to the North East, and up into the Highlands & Lowlands of Scotland.

Performing at some of his smallest ever venues, Paul and his band will continue across the Irish Sea to Derry, then down through Southern Ireland, across Wales and into South West England. The tour will culminate in a jaunt across the South coast ending with a show in London.

The star has promised his set will feature songs from his extensive back catalogue which includes big hits Caravan of Love, Happy Hour, Song for Whoever, Keep it All In, A Little Time and The Perfect 10 to name just a few.

Paul and his band kick off this fantastic run of dates on Monday, May 15 with fans encouraged to cycle to each show and join Paul on his long and winding journey which finishes on June 23.
