A support group for people with dyslexia has been formed in Powys.
The new group aims to provide information, local support and a signposting service for individuals and their families.
The group has been formed following a public meeting hosted earlier this year by Chairman of Powys County Council, Cllr Barry Thomas. Dyslexia is Cllr Thomas' chosen campaign for the year and he has been raising the profile of the condition since he took-up his civic role in May.
He explains: "I'm delighted this group has been formed. Although the group is in a very early stage, it's formation is a positive step forward for those with dyslexia across the county."
A management committee has been formed which includes volunteers from north, mid and south Powys. There are plans to officially launch the support group later this year.
