Ardwyn Nursery & Infants School was evacuated this morning after teachers and parents smelt gas.
The school has closed for the day as a precaution but the authorities are confident it will reopen tomorrow.
Mrs Yvonne Naylor, Headteacher, said: “Gas was smelt by school staff and parents this morning which has been reported to the utilities company. As a precaution, the school has been closed until the all clear has been given. We anticipate that the school will re-open as normal tomorrow morning.”
Most parents were informed through the Powys County Council’s new text service which immediately informs them of any problems at the school caused by health and safety or the weather.
