Man seriously injured in Forden smash

More details have been released this afternoon on the crash which closed the road between Forden and Montgomery yesterday (Monday).

The smash occurred around 2.15pm between a silver Ford Mondeo and a blue Volvo with both drivers taken to hospital after being released from the wreckage by Montgomery fire fighters.

“Both drivers were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with the driver of the Volvo being released a short while later,” said PC Marcus Wright from the roads policing unit. “The driver of the Mondeo was immediately transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious leg injuries. I’d appeal for anyone with information to please get in touch with me at Newtown Police Station on 101.”

The accident happened on the B4388 at the Marton to Caerhowell junction.
