The parents of a nine-year-old motocross champion have branded thieves who stole their son’s new bike as “heartless”.
Cheryl Biggs, from Marton, said her son Kyle is devastated after his new Husqvarna 65cc was stolen from a locked container where it was being stored in readiness for the second round of a Winter Championship this weekend.
The theft was even harder to take as it happened around the youngster’s birthday. A reward has been offered for its return.
“Kyle has been doing motocross since March 2011, he is doing really well and won his first trophy at the end of 2011,” said Cheryl. “He has had the bike since January and was due to take part in the second round of the Winter Championship of Warley Wasps club next weekend.
“It was his ninth birthday on Wednesday and he was looking forward to wearing his new kit and helmet that he had for a present to race.”
Kyle’s bike was stolen out of the locked trailer at Wilden Lane MX Club, Kidderminster. The reward is offered for its return by the Chairman of the Club.
“Although it is Kyle's bike, both myself, Neil his Dad and Brody his 3-year-old brother are absolutely in bits as we all go to the racing as a family,” explained Cheryl. “Kyle's grandparents can't believe it has happened and are finding it hard to see their grandson so upset. Kyle says he is worried and won't be able to sleep now.”
There are very few of the Husqvarna 65cc in the country as they have only just been released, so if you are in the motocross scene and have heard of one for sale, contact the police on 101.
