Welshpool Music Club’s 69th season of concerts ends on Thursday with a recital by a former runner-up in the European Young Musician of the Year.
Clarinet virtuoso Sarah Williamson, accompanied by Jennie-Helen Moston on piano, will perform at the Welshpool Methodist Church from 7.30pm.
Sarah, also a woodwind finalist in the 2002 BBC Young Musician of the Year, lives in North London but is well known to the Music Club’s Roy and Joan Upton-Holder who she studied piano (Joan) and clarinet (Roy) under from a young age.
The programme will include Poulenc’s Sonata, Spigel im spigel by Arvop Pert, Matinu’s Sonatina, Brahms Sonata in Eb, and Gershwin’s 3 Preludes arranged for clarinet by James Cohn.
Admission at the door is £7 for adults and just £2 for students. For further information, call Joan or Roy on 01938 554 840.
