Powys outlines its plan to improve

Plans to implement improved council services have been approved by Powys County Council.

The Powys Change Plan is a three-year project that sets out key objectives that will shape how council services are delivered in the county over the next three years.

Councillor Liam Fitzpatrick, Powys County Council’s Cabinet Member for Change, Communications and Performance, said: "By producing a coherent plan our residents can find out what we’re planning to do and what results they can expect to see if our priorities are achieved.

"It is important that we have a clear direction and a sense of priority, particularly within current financial constraints and rising expectations. This plan rolls forward some of the work we had in last year’s plan and reaffirms the council’s activities for improving services.

He added: “Despite the challenges ahead, we must be ambitious in what we can achieve. We know that the wide range of services we deliver has a huge impact on a lot of people and so we will continue to put value for money and customer service at the heart of all we do.”

The Powys Change Plan ties in with the council’s medium-term financial plan.
