Welshpool residents with wasps on their property can have it treated by Powys County Council, it has been announced.
With the increase in temperature of late, the council is re-introducing treatments for wasps found in domestic properties from the beginning of April. The cost of service will be £44.64 including VAT.
Chris Taylor, the council's Head of Housing and Public Protection, said: “Wasps are a seasonal nuisance pest that can frequently be found in domestic properties. Since we made changes to our pest control services last year, we have kept them under review and we have sufficient capacity to introduce this additional service during the spring and summer.”
The council still carries out treatments for rats and for mice and cockroaches inside domestic properties as these are classed as priority public health pests, which costs £18 including VAT for a course of treatment.
Treatment of bedbugs and fleas in domestic premises are no longer provided and the council no longer provides pest advice and insect identification.
