An independent organisation representing around 550 tourism and hospitality businesses in Mid Wales is offering to help organisers raise the profile of events across Mid Wales.
Mid Wales Tourism (MWT) has introduced a discounted membership fee of £90 for one-off events, which will give organisers access to a package of online marketing services.
These services include an e-shop to sell tickets and merchandise online and the Guestlink Affiliates marketing scheme, which allows event organisers to generate revenue from their own websites by providing links to a local cluster of accommodation providers, restaurants and other businesses.
MWT’s chief executive Val Hawkins says it’s a great way for event organisers to work in partnership with accommodation providers, restaurants and visitor attractions to increase income and improve their Internet profile.
“The e-shop and affiliates marketing scheme enables customers to buy their event tickets and find a place to stay at the same time,” she said.
“As an industry, we need to make it much easier for customers to find and book everything they need during one online visit. The good news for tourism businesses and event organisers is that we now have a range of tools to achieve this.”
