There has been a tragic end to the nationwide search for a father and his three children after they were found dead this morning in woodland near Pontesbury.
The hunt for Ceri Fuller, 35, from Gloucestershire and his son Sam, 12, and daughters Becka, 10, and Charlotte, six had moved to Welshpool today after his red Freelander was spotted locally.
But no sooner had the appeal gone out, devastating news came through of the discovery just across the border. Police have sealed off the area and forensic examinations are taking place.
A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said: “Officers searching for missing man Ceri Fuller and his three children, from the Forest of Dean, have been made aware of the discovery of four bodies in Pontesbury, Shropshire, shortly before 10am this morning.
“While the bodies have yet to be formally identified, Mr Fuller's family have been informed of the discovery and are being supported by police family liaison officers.
“The investigation into the deaths is being conducted by West Mercia Police.”
Gloucestershire Police had been appealing for information on the whereabouts of the father and his three children, who left home last Thursday.
