Redundancies confirmed by Welshpool firm

A Welshpool-based company has scotched rumours of more than 20 job losses by confirming that four will be lost, while they will be recruiting personnel in another side of its business.
Dytecna is an independent engineering and through-life support solutions company that has provided design and manufacturing innovation to defence and commercial industries for over 60 years.
It has had an operation based on the Offa’s Dyke Business Park since 2008 and currently employs around 35 members of staff. Redundancy rumours were fuelled this week by the news that a current project was nearing its conclusion.
“Unfortunately we have had to announce a small number of redundancies with four permanent members of staff in the production area of the business leaving after the current project we are working on reaches its conclusion,” said Chief Executive, Paul Kettle. “However, the company is looking to recruit in our engineering division as that side of the business is very healthy.”
Welshpool is one of six locations that Dytecna operates from with four more in England a further one in Australia.
