Given the atrocious summer, it seems apt that one of Britain’s leading clothing brands has launched a ‘Welshpool’ jacket!
Henleys has reduced the asking price of its Welshpool Hooded Jacket to £29.99, down from £59.99, and it comes complete with a shooting patch and contrast jersey hood, cuffs and hem.
It has made local residents smile with Kim Hughes admitting: “I had to read it twice when it came through on a sale leaflet!”
The lightweight jacket is 100% polyamide and has rubber print branding on the shoulder. It comes in a choice of Charcoal or Black.
The jacket (right) captures the town’s reputation as a staging post for shooting trips on estates in the surrounding countryside, but we may never know just how its name came about.
A Henleys spokesperson told us this morning: “I wish I could tell you more about the name!
“I have spoken to our design team and it could well be that it was named after the place as the designer at the time named a lot of styles after places. Unfortunately the designer has now left so I have no way of knowing if she had any special affiliation with the place.”
