Police have launched an investigation into a burglary at a wooden cabin in Leighton Woods, which was then set alight.
The remote cabin is used by the Royal Forestry Society and the incident happened between 6pm on Tuesday, July 31 and 7am on Thursday, August 2.
The cabin was completely wrecked by the intruders and the fire eventually burned itself out without catching on to surrounding trees and causing a potentially huge blaze.
“Leighton Wood is a popular area for dog walkers and it is possible that someone may have seen people acting suspiciously in the area around these dates,” said Sergeant Jonathan Rees. “If anyone does have information which could help can they please contact officers at Welshpool Police Station on 101.”
