Two teenage Welshpool girls have been arrested at the High School after barging into lessons and abusing teaching staff and puipils.

Dyfed-Powys Police Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested two Welshpool girls for causing a nuisance on school premises.

The females involved were ex-pupils of Welshpool High School, who entered the school and barged in on several lessons, shouting and being abusive to the staff and pupils who were in lessons at the time.

Both girls were arrested, one will appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court and the other received a caution.

"Welshpool Neighbourhood Policing Team are keen to tackle any anti-social behaviour in the town, and hope that a message has been sent out to those causing a nuisance, that they will be dealt with accordingly," said a spokesman.

If anyone witnesses anti-social behaviour they are encouraged to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police by ringing 101.
