Police hunt ‘abaya’ gang

Police are hunting three women who were dressed in traditional Islamic clothing when they stole from two local businesses.
 
Despite happening on September 28, police decided to put out an appeal today for help following the two thefts in the same afternoon in Llanrhaeadr and Welshpool.
 
The drama unfolded in the pictueresque village first at around 3.30pm when two of the women made off with charity boxes when a shop assistant was distracted.
 
They appeared only two hours later in Welshpool when two women made off with an iPhone from behind the counter in purebeauty when the member of staff was again distracted.
 
Police believe three different women, of Asian descent were involved and have issued the following descriptions:
 
Suspect One: aged 20's, 5 ft 3" tall, slim build, black hair pretty face, three gold teeth, black or white robe from neck to ankles.
Suspect Two: aged 50's, 5ft 3" tall, medium build, black hair, wearing brown headscarf, dark robe.
Suspect Three: aged late 20’s, wearing black long robe, with head cover, revealing her face.
 
The gang is suspected of using a maroon coloured Ford Galaxy.
