Remembrance Day details announced

Taking place on November 11, Welshpool Town Council extends an invitation to all who would like to be a part of the Remembrance Parade.
Made up of representatives from the Armed Forces- veterans and cadets, Royal British Legion Standard Bearers, voluntary and youth organisations together with local councillors, led by Newtown Youth Band, the parade will meet in Park Lane, off High Street, at 10.20am in order to move off at 10.30am to be at St Mary’s Church for  11am. 
Following the church service, there will be the laying of wreaths at the memorial at St Mary’s before the parade reforms to make its way back to the Town Hall.

Welshpool Town Council, together with the Welshpool Branch of the Royal British Legion, is hosting a Festival of Remembrance in the Assembly Room at Welshpool Town Hall on November 9. The doors open at 7pm and the programme starts at 7.30pm.
The evening starts with a parade of Standards accompanied by music from the Porth-y-Waen Youth and Training Silver Band who will also lead the “Community Singing” later in the evening.
The evening will conclude with the service of remembrance taken by The Rev Stephen Willson, Vicar of St Marys and British Legion Chaplain.
After the service, refreshments will be served “NAAFI” style, organised by the Welshpool branch of the Royal British Legion.
Tickets are priced £6 and available from the Welshpool Tourist Information Centre (Monday-Saturday 9.30am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm) or the Town Clerk’s Office (Monday-Friday 9.30am until 2.30pm). Call 01938 553142 for more details.
