Are police doing a good job?

A meeting will be held in Welshpool on Monday to allow residents to have their say on how their local police force is performing.

The joint consultation meetings are run in partnership between Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Dyfed-Powys Police Authority, Dyfed-Powys Police and local authority Community Safety Partnerships.

Residents will be given the opportunity to have their say in current issues and the discussions will help shape future policing and community safety priorities in their area.

Speaking on behalf of the agencies taking part, Chief Fire Officer Richard Smith, from Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service, said: “The meetings are an excellent opportunity for the emergency services and community safety representatives to meet directly with the public.

“The public’s views are important to us we want to know what communities think of the services we provide and what they think we can do to enhance these services even further.

“To effectively tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and other community safety issues it’s important that agencies and the public work together and support each other.”

Monday’s meeting will be held from 6:45pm-9pm at the Town Hall. For further information contact Dyfed-Powys Police Authority at police.authority@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk
