New recycling starts Monday

19/10/2012 @ 07:29

Villages and towns in the Welshpool area begin their new recycling collection system from Monday, when collections for general rubbish will become fortnightly.

Deliveries of the new recycling containers, food caddies and wheeled bins have been taking place over the past three weeks, and all households within the affected areas should now have a complete set.

Residents who already use the red and black box recycling scheme have been delivered food waste and kitchen caddies as well as a wheeled bin for non-recyclable rubbish, whilst all other residents have also received blue, red and aqua recycling boxes.

A comprehensive recycling guide including information such as what materials can be put in the containers, and a calendar for the different collection weeks have also be delivered. Extra copies can be downloaded from www.powys.gov.uk/recycle.

If you have not received containers or a wheeled bin, or have any other queries about the changes, call the Waste Services team on 0845 602 7035.
