Powys County Council says it is hacked off after their new permanent bollards to help improve road safety at the foot of Red Bank were vandalised.
The bollards were cemented into place at the junction of Red Bank and Windmill Lane after a string of near misses were reported due to vehicles using the grass verge.
But someone obviously doesn’t agree with the council’s road safety measure and has cut the bollards in half using heavy duty cutting equipment! The offence happened on October 23 and has been reported to police.
A spokesperson for Powys County Council said: “We are aware that permanent bollards installed near the Windmill Lane and Red Bank junction were cut down.
“The permanent bollards were installed as a road safety measure to stop vehicles parking on a piece of land adjacent to the junction as any vehicle parked there would restrict visibility for road users using that junction.”
