Changing the lives of children forever

02/11/2012 @ 11:29

The lives of many children in the Welshpool area could be changed forever as Powys County Council supports National Adoption Week, which starts on Monday.

The council’s Adoption Service is looking for families for a number of children including siblings groups, toddlers and older young people who are all eagerly waiting for new families.

The service will be at Coed y Dinas on November 10 where visitors can get more information about adoption.

Cllr Melanie Davies, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “Don’t think that we will turn you down because you are aged over 40, don’t own your own home, already have children or are not in a relationship. What we really need are people who can offer a child or sibling group a loving and supportive family for life.

“Initially, we are simply asking people to come forward and find out more about adoption.  If you think you might have what it takes, please pick up the phone today.”

To find out more contact the service on 01874 614030 adoption@powys.gov.uk.
