£4,000 raised for April fund

Over £4,000 has been raised for the April Jones Fund following a charity auction in Machynlleth.

The money was raised through the auction of various donated items, including shows from Catherine Zeta Jones and a jacket from Bonnie Tyler.

The money will be put towards the fund which now sits at £50,000. It was set up after April, aged 5, went missing exactly two months ago on Saturday from outside her home.

Despite continued serahces, April has not been found.

On Friday night a pink illuminated star was lit in Maengwyn Street in the town as part of the main Christmas lights. The remaining lights were switched on at an event on Saturday evening. The pink light will remain on throughout the festive period.

Mark Bridger, 47, has been charged with murder, child abduction and perverting the course of justice. He is in custody.
