FAT CATTLE (26)
The Judge Mr Joey Jones awarded the Champion Beast to Mr J M Rowlands Dowlen, for a Limousin heifer weighing 582kg and making 395ppkg (£2209.90). The champion heifer was purchased by Bowen & Bowen Penthryn Farm. Reserve Champion beast was awarded to CJ & ME Williams Minysarn for a Limousin Steer weighing 636kg making 315ppkg (£2003.40) and was purchased by Rikki Lloyd. The Perpetual Cup for the Best Pair was awarded to CJ & ME Williams Minysarn and purchased by G R Evans & Co Corwen and M J Birtwistle & Co.
Steers averaged 229ppkg and Heifers averaged 247ppkg.

Champion Pen was awarded to Mr Brain L Griffiths Lower Penygelli who achieved £150 per head on a pen of 10 lambs weighing 43kg bought by Rikki Lloyd of Welshpool. Mr Griffiths also received the Reserve Champion for a pen of 10 lambs weighing 37.5kg and achieving £84 per head and purchased by Farmers Fresh Ltd

CULL EWES (2022)
A good show again of 2022 cull sheep presented for sale saw ewes selling to an average price of £42.25 per head and rams at £65.62. Cull ewes sold to a top price of £130 per head from TD & MJ Orrells & Son Middle Llegodig. D Jones Graig Fach sold ewes to £127 per head. Cull rams also sold to a top price of £125 per head from EM & DM & JI Jones Henblas. Weekly sales of Cull Sheep to immediately follow the sale of Fat lambs.
STORE SHEEP
An entry of 770 store lambs achieving an increased average of £47. Mixed and clean lambs achieving a top price of 361.50 from CE & G T Davies Derwen. Wether lambs achieving a top price of £64 from E Jones & Son Penbontpren. Tup lambs achieving a top price of £61 from E R P & C M Gethin Gaer Mill. Mixed and tup lambs achieving top price of £56 from RA & E Davies Ffinnant. As usual the sale of Store Lambs to commence at 10.30am next Monday.
DAIRY COWS
An excellent entry of 20 dairy cattle where forward for the annual show and sale at Welshpool Market and was very kindly sponsored by Genus and Les Owen Dairy Supplies. The judge Mr Kelly Hill awarded the Alan Morris perpetual trophy to Mr N Samuels Lower Ystrad Builth Wells for a smart Britis friesian heifer giving 30 litres a day which went on to make £2420. The third placed heifer was from the same home sired by Askew Reece which sold for £2120. Second place in the heifer class went to T G Phillips & Co Burgedin which made £1850. From the same home was a similar heifer selling for £2050. Taking the Wynnstay Perpetual trophy for the best cow was D N Williams Gilfach with a Norwegan Red 2nd calver which sold for £1670. Mr Williams also secured 2nd place with a Norwegan Red 3rd calver. Two heifers from R & R Corfield Brinynant sired by High Society Ziggy and Autumn Ridge Matson sold for £1870 and £1800 respectively. D W P Davies The Gornal sold a Sterndale Lovejoy daughter for £1880. R N Thompson Oak Green Farm presented four heifers selling to a top price of £1810. A breakdown of all the prices achieved were as follows: £2000+ 3lots, £1800 - -£2000 7 lots, £1600 - £1800 4 lots, £1400 - £1600 4 lots, £1200 - £1400 1 lot less than £1200 1 lot.
IN CALF HEIFERS
A special entry of 27 quality Pedigree Limousin Pure Limousin and Britihs Bluex Limousin IN Calf heifers went under the hammer on Christmas Fatstock day on behalf of D I Roberts & Sons Stingwern, Brooks Welshpool. The heifers were in calf to the easy calving Woodhouse Custer and Corridan Dalek and due to calf January and February 2013. Top price of the day was £2480 for a Pedigree Limousin heifer born 2010.
