Ten hotels and 38 guest accommodation businesses in Mid Wales have achieved the highest Gold Award rating from Visit Wales, the Welsh Government’s tourism arm.
“I am delighted to see that Mid Wales has again featured prominently in the awards, which demonstrates the increasingly high standards of hospitality and comfort now being offered to visitors,” she said.
“These Gold Award winners are the standard bearers for quality tourism in Mid Wales and have worked very hard to achieve this success, which will encourage other businesses to drive up their standards to attract even more visitors to the region.”
A total of 33 hotels and 93 guest accommodation businesses across Wales have achieved gold awards, which recognise outstanding quality, exceptional comfort and hospitality in the serviced sector in Wales.
Each of the recipients has been visited by a ‘mystery shopper’ to test their customer interaction skills and achieved high quality scores in their most recent quality grading assessment.
This year’s newcomers to the gold awards in the hotels section include the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel.
Other newcomers on the accommodation list include The Nags Head, Garthmyl and The Forest, Kerry, with The Checkers, Montgomery and The Old Vicarage, Dolfor retaining their gold status.
