Town’s anti social blitz continues

10/10/2010 @ 01:42

One female youth will appear in court; a second received a final warning and more booze was poured down the drains after police stepped up their anti social clampdown over the weekend.
Two female youths were arrested for causing damage to a public toilet which had only recently been repainted due to graffiti. The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were charged and one will appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court with the second receiving a final warning.
Also over the weekend, officers poured a bottle of wine and eight cans of beer down the drain after intercepting underage drinkers in and around the town centre.
PC Lindsay Sweetman said: “Anti social behaviour is a priority. We will not tolerate any acts of nuisance or anti social behaviour in and around the town. We will apprehend and positively deal with any persons found acting in an anti social manner.”
