‘Doors smashed in’ during police raids

MyWelshpool readers have reported large numbers of police, some in ‘riot gear’ raiding three properties across the town this morning (Friday).

While we are waiting for police verification, what we do know from witnesses is that police smashed doors in at least two of the properties with some of the police wearing protective gear.

At least three properties are involved in what appears to be a pre-planned co-ordinated operation from 9.30am. Boxes were seen being removed from the properties on Bron-y-Buckley, Gungrog Hill and in the Town Centre.

“It was like something you see on television,” one witness to the Bron-y-Buckley raid told us. “We were told to keep our distance before police wearing riot gear smashed the front door and piled in. We heard drugs mentioned and we did see them removing boxes from the house later.”
