A Four Crosses man is preparing to go through the pain barrier to raise money for Comic Relief.

Jordan Smedley, 24, who works in the touring after sales team at Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury, has agreed to have a body wax this week to support the charity.

The hair-stripping event will take place at Flix Hair and Beauty in Shrewsbury on Wednesday morning and workmate Josh Davenport will be there to film it. The salon has agreed to do the body wax free of charge and Jordan hopes family, friends and Salop Leisure’s customers will help him to raise £500 for Comic Relief.

“I thought it was about time that I did a good turn and raised some money for charity,” explained Jordan. “A lot of people tell me I’m really hairy, so it seemed like a good idea to have a body wax. As Comic Relief was coming up, I decided to do it for that charity.

“I’m going to have a complete body wax from neck to toe and I’m told it’s going to be painful, but it’s for a good cause and should raise a few smiles.”

Jordan can be sponsored via the Red Nose Day giving page at http://my.rednoseday.com/sponsor/jordansmedley.
