CULL EWE (1677)
An entry of 1677 cull sheep on offer for sale today, sold to average £56.80 for the ewes and £67.93 for the rams. Top price of the day for the ewes was £128per head from E L Evans & Co The Green. Top price for the cull rams was £113 per head from GL, JS & A Howells Shadog Farm. Weekly sale of cull sheep to immediately follow the sale of fat lambs at approximately 12noon.
STORE LAMBS
An entry of 150 store lambs sold to a sharp trade. Better meated lambs in demand and selling to £66 from M E Thomas Felincoed for Ewe Lambs.
Couples.
Couples were generally harder sold with the slow grass growth being the main reason. Top price was £205 for three year old texel ewes with twin lambs at foot from TP & DE Pryce Timber Yard.
Cade Lambs.
Only 130 lambs forward. Sold to average £8.50, selling to a top of £22.
COWS & CALVES
An entry of 5 cows and calves met with a steadier trade, with less people around the ring due to lambing and the weather. AS & EM Goolden & Sons Cilbach sold a Limousinx 1st Calver with a Charolais cow and bul calf for £1500.
