New exhibition/quiz at Powysland

Welshpool’s Powysland Museum has launched its new exhibition along with a fun quiz for both children and adults.

The quiz ‘Guess the objects’ will run alongside the new exhibition until June 12.

The new exhibition presents 10 modern artifacts from the museum’s collections, not all of which are that easy to identify. Visitors are invited to work out and/or guess what the items are and what they were used for. An answer sheet is available and a winner will be drawn when the exhibition finishes in June.

Most of the items on display are generic with no or little connection to the area or to local people and the question is: Do they still belong in Powysland Museum? Therefore the exhibition also asks visitors to fill out a short questionnaire relating to future collecting. The results of the survey will help not just this museum, but museums in Wales form a strategy for the scope and variety of contemporary collections for the benefit of future visitors.

And as added incentive, there is free admission until April 13.
