‘Good’ report for another local school

Forden Pre-School Playgroup has become the latest local school to impress the school inspectors, building on the excellent turn-around shown by Welshpool schools over the last 12 months.

During its March inspection, the school recorded a ‘Good’ verdict which means it has “many strengths" and "no important areas requiring significant improvement”.

The report found that all children are “happy, relaxed and well settled in the setting” and “enjoy their learning and making good progress”. Their good behaviour was also noted as well as the quality of teaching and supervision.

Local education has made positive strides over recent months, none more so than at Maesydre School in Welshpool which has bounced back following a difficult period when it was placed in special measures.
