Long delays after five injured

Motorists faced long delays in the Welshpool area yesterday after a crash at the Newtown end of the town bypass.

Five people were injured in the two car crash.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called at 09:36am on Saturday following the collision on the A483 Welshpool bypass. A spokesperson said the five people were cut free from two vehicles.

The fire service said four people were taken to hospital by road ambulance and the air ambulance was called to help a fifth.
