Another O2 apology, but problem is fixed

Communications giant O2 has once again apologised to its customers in the Welshpool area but says it has finally fixed the ongoing mast problem.

Customers have had their service disrupted for nearly two weeks following a fault on the Welshpool mast which has taken 10 days to fix.

Initially O2 said bad weather hampered the first attempts to fix the faulty cable, but with the problem stretching on this week, the company has been forced to issue another apology and explanation.

“Our mast in Welshpool needed replacement cabling and parts that we had to order but unfortunately the adverse weather conditions had an impact on fixing the problem quickly,” said a spokesperson. “Our engineers were able to visit the site yesterday (Tuesday) and full service has now been restored. We'd like to apologise to any of our customers who were affected.”

But local customers have not been impressed with MP Glyn Davies accusing the company of “lies” just to get complaining customers off the phone.
